Back Story:

"This was a very therapeutic song for me to write, addressing the moment when you inevitably in your life experience some sort of heartbreak when you really trust someone and they really break that trust in a way that really affects you. They say you can't really know true love until you have been hurt and that's true, you might have been truly loved but you don't really appreciate until you have experienced both extremes. Perhaps one of the most gut wrenching forms of heartbreak is if they cheat on you and even though they want you back you know they aren't really sorry or particularly owning of their own wrongdoing. Even though you love them and you have already started the process of settling down in life together, you know there is no future (unless she really was sorry) and so the hardest part is telling her to go. At least when this happened to me, the only time she showed any sad emotion was after the two weeks notice I gave her to pack her things that she knew I was serious as she knew that she really wasn't going to see me again unless she really acknowledged it was cheating which she wasn't going to do anytime soon. They were the only tears of hers I saw."
