Fooling With Love Joel Dobbins Yes
Back Story:
"This is the first song I wrote to include a bridge with a unique melody about 2 years since when started writing. The song paved the way for me to approach writing more structurally complex songs. An old demo version of this was uploaded to Triple J Unearthed for several years. It's a self reflection song aimed to challenge the motivation behind having girlfriends and if I am just fooling around rather than only getting involved with relationships I think have a chance to be long-term."
- Joel Dobbins
Lyrics:
Dear sun of trust
Will I ever see you shine
Fun or lust
I wished that you were mine
Adrenalin and hormone
One dangerous mix
Am I just fooling around
With love for a fix
For a fix
Mmm, yeah yeah
Mmm, yeah yeah
With a headache of five
I'd learned my mistake
It's only so long
You can act such a fake
With an English manner
She shakes no head
She only wants company
Count the hair on my head
On my head
Fooling
Am I just fooling with love
Fooling
Am I just fooling with love
With a broken smile left captive
With fear's iron casts
But your hand soothes the memories
I know your love will forever last
If my heart were an ornament
It'd be full of lost love
Rundown and broken
Leaking water from above
Rainbow sun shower
Our innocence so bold
By the tick of my watch
My character remains unsold
Remains unsold
I know
I'm not fooling with love
I know
That I'm not fooling with love
Remains unsold
I know
I'm not fooling with love
I know
That I'm not fooling with love
I know I'm not fooling with love
