Back Story:

"I was very proud of this song musically, especially for it's instrumental in the middle I wrote layering many types of guitar tracks with varying effects on it. Samuel wrote the lyrics to this tune of mine about me who had just gone through a breakup with my first girlfriend, who we each were highschool sweethearts for each other for the majority of our senior high school years. Especially being so young, a first heartbreak would inevitably be very confusing and overwhelming for anyone, with so many emotions going through your head at once and with no prior experiences to relate it to. In fact, it was because of this breakup that I started writing songs in the first place as a channel to get the emotional pain out, with my song called "Why Doesn't She" I had written a little earlier. I'm sure I was well on the path towards starting to write my own songs anyway but this was a real catalyst for me. It's funny as feelings of guilt and anger almost don't seem to be relevant as really I can't think if any logical reasons for why I should have felt guilty or angry at her. Perhaps it was because I had really put my hopes on her being "the one". Regardless, I know I really cared for her and always anything or anyone you care about that you lose will always be an overwhelmingly traumatic experience."

Lyrics:

You take a trip down a road
And that's one guilty road
And no matter what she says
I'll be there to comfort you

All the things she's said
They've bounced right off your chest
But no matter what you do
She'll still be mad at you
She's pushed and shoved
This is the woman you loved
She's just like her mother
I said why won't you even bother

You take a trip down a road
And that's one guilty road
And no matter what she says
I'll be there to comfort you

She's put him in strife
With his head in a vice
She's not enjoying her life
And she's going to blame it on you
She's hitted a rough
I think you've had enough
She's not being a friend
There's only your back to bend

You take a trip down a road
And that's one guilty road
And no matter what she says
I'll be there to comfort you
