A number of innovative tricks were used to overcome the lack of equipment they had. Firstly, since neither of them owned a bass guitar, Joel played the low E string of his guitar with the amp bass setting turned up to full and playing with his fingers for extra bass. Lacking in mic pre-amps, they used guitar amps to amplify instead; and since they did not have an audio interface, they used the line-in input on a Windows XP inbuilt soundcard to record sound. Additionally, instead of a mic stand, they often suspended the microphone from the frame of the bunk bed in order to record acoustic guitar, vocals, etc. This is an hour's compilation of the brothers' best material.
